Why polypropylene
Polypropylene bends under impact and springs back. ABS and polycarbonate are stiffer, and stiffer shells crack where PP would flex and recover. On a checked bag that gets dropped from a belt onto concrete, that matters.
On the weight limit
Most airlines set a checked bag at 23kg and refuse a single piece over 32kg. At 4.0kg empty you have around 19kg to fill — comfortable for seven to ten days. Check your own allowance before you fly, as it varies by carrier and fare.
