Both allowances are weighed

Wizz Air is unusual in publishing a 10kg limit on both the free personal item and the Priority trolley bag. Most carriers weigh only the larger bag, or none at all.

That makes the empty weight of your case a real consideration rather than a footnote. A case weighing 2.5kg empty leaves you 7.5kg of packing space; one weighing 4kg leaves you 6kg. Over a week of clothes and shoes, that difference decides whether you repack at the airport.

The free personal item

Every Wizz Air fare includes one personal item at 40 × 30 × 20cm, stored under the seat in front. It is the same box size Ryanair uses, so a case bought for one will pass the other.

What WIZZ Priority adds

WIZZ Priority adds a trolley bag up to 55 × 40 × 23cm and 10kg, carried in the overhead locker, alongside your free personal item. At 23cm it is slightly deeper than the Ryanair Priority allowance of 20cm — a small difference, but it means a case bought for Wizz Air will not necessarily pass a Ryanair sizer.

If you fly both, buy to the tighter of the two.

Practical advice

Because both allowances are weight-limited, weigh your packed case at home. Bathroom scales are close enough. It is a two-minute job that avoids a charge at the gate.
